
Funeral services for Charles Robert Ellis, Sr., 82, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Rodney Kruse and Rev. Dave Jeffreys officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Mr. Ellis died Tuesday at his residence. Mr. Ellis was born in Blytheville, Arkansas November 20, 1932 to L.C. Ellis and Elwese Cummings Ellis. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Rebecca Robertson July 21, 1979. He was a self employed Building Contractor and owned Ellis Insulation Company. He was also part owner of Multiple Placement Homes in Temple. He lived in Temple since 1953 and was a member of American Legion Post 133 and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by one brother Freddy Ellis and one sister Nancy Ines. Survivors include his wife Rebecca Ellis of Temple; six sons Bobby Don Ellis of Temple, Mark Ellis of Moffat, Russell Lee Ellis of Corpus Christi, Dennis Duffina of Georgetown, Charles Ellis, Jr. of Temple and Robert Duffina of Belton; two daughters Virginia Hodges of Temple and Therisa Ellis of Temple; one brother Don Leslie Ellis of Blytheville, Arkansas; one sister Dorothy Ivey of Forest City, Arkansas; his first wife and dear friend Annie Ruth Ellis; twenty two grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
