Charles Wayne Underwood

Funeral services for Charles Wayne Underwood, 62, of Troy will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Ray Crow officiating. Mr. Underwood died Thursday in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Underwood was born in Cameron to Billy Charles Underwood and Mary Louise Whatley Underwood. He lived in Slaton for many years and graduated from Slaton High School and he worked for Pioneer Natural Gas Company at Slaton. He moved to the Temple-Troy area in 1987. He worked as a truck driver for Clarksville Refrigerated Lines and the City of Temple. He married Jerry Parent October 7, 2005. Survivors include his wife Jerry Underwood of Troy; two daughters Amy Jean Coleman and her husband Michael of Atlanta, Georgia and Kimberly DeLeon of Troy; one son Jeremy Hogue of Troy; one brother Joe Bob Underwood of Holland; one sister Carol DeLeon of Temple and three grandchildren Byrdie Ella Coleman, Michael Connor Coleman and Jeremy Kaine DeLeon. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to the Charity of choice. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
