Cynthia Russell, age 81, of Troy died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 19, at First Baptist Church of Troy with Rev. Harlan Haines officiating. Ms. Russell was born November 5, 1930 in Temple to John Carl and Esther (Broaddus) Armbruster. She received a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Texas Tech University. She taught school for 26 years. She taught Chemistry at Temple High School before retiring in 1985. She was cofounder and director of Churches Touching Lives for Christ in 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Troy. Survivors include one son, Wheeler Russell and wife, Gina of Lubbock, one daughter, Kathy Wood and husband, Woody of Troy, two grandsons, Thomas Russell and wife, Elizabeth and Tyler Russell all of Lubbock and one sister, Mary Roland of Thrall.
