Dennis E. Parsons

Funeral services for Dennis Earl Parsons, 61, of Temple will be held at Scanio Harper Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeremy Franks officiating. Burial will be held at Wilson Valley Cemetery. Mr. Parsons died Thursday at Scott and White Hospital. Dennis Parsons was born in Dallas, Texas to William Odell Parsons and Francis Johnson Parsons. He lived in Irving, Texas for the majority of his life. He graduated from Irving High School in 1972. Dennis married his high school sweetheart, Teresa Long, in 1973, and they were married for forty-two years. Dennis worked in automobile sales management throughout his adult career until his retirement in 2013. He was an active church member who taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon. He loved his family and was devoted to spending time with his grandsons. His favorite pastime was spending time on the lake with his family. Mr. Parsons was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Odell Parsons; his mother-in-law, Barbara Long; and his brother, Ronnie Parsons. He is survived in death by his wife, Teresa Parsons; his daughter, Lisa Adams and her husband Josh; his son William L. Bo Parsons and his wife, Jessika; his two grandsons, Clayton and Luke Adams; his sister Kay Rutledge and her husband Phillip; his sister Sandra Parsons; his brother Lee Grisham and his wife Suzanne; his uncle Charles Johnson and his aunt Joanne; his aunt Jean; his father-in-law, Roy Long and Laura; and numerous extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mission Fund at Fellowship Baptist Church in Morgan’s Point Resort, Texas.
