

Donald Lee Hejl was called home to be with his heavenly father on November 3, 2025 at the age of 92. He was the youngest of three children born to Jerry Hejl and Albina (Drevojanek) Hejl on December 5, 1932, in Seaton, Texas. Don attended Temple High School and after graduation went to work for Pioneer Airlines. While working for Pioneer Airlines, he met the love of his life Jo Nell “Jodi” Haynes. They were married on March 20, 1954. They had two daughters Cynthia and Terri. Don worked for Continental Airlines in Temple and was transferred to Houston in 1963 where he worked until retirement. After retirement from Continental Airlines, he went to work for Lyndon Air Freight and then part time for Lone Star College. Don and Jodi built their retirement home in Roman Forest, Texas where they lived a life of leisure and enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father. Don loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a member of the New Caney Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Gail Hejl Hanson, son-in-law Darrell Hanson, granddaughter Lauren Hanson and grandson Kevin Hanson; daughter Terri Diane Hejl Sparks, son-in-law Mark Sparks, grandson Jeff Sparks and wife Kelsey (Dusing) Sparks, great grandsons Cooper and Riley Sparks; grandson Brad Sparks and wife Lauren (Waldron) Sparks, great grandsons Declan and Branson Sparks; plus nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Seaton Cemetery on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Charles Willis of the New Caney Church of Christ will be officiating.
