

Facts Doris Eleanora Green Provazek, age 86 of Temple, died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at St. Luke Catholic Church with Rev. George Henninger and Rev. James Ekeocha as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Cyclone. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00pm Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with recitation of the rosary at 6:00pm. Mrs. Provazek was born on November 21, 1930 in Meeks Community near Rosebud, Texas to the late Benno Green and Alberta Greene Green. She also attended schools in the Meeks Community. Doris married the love of her life, Willie C. Provazek, on October 14, 1950; he preceded her in death on September 25, 1998. Doris is also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and twin great-granddaughters. Doris loved her family dearly and treasured the time she spent with them. She enjoyed gardening, baking wedding cakes, sewing, traveling, and dancing. Doris was an avid bowler and loved attending her kids’ and grandchildren’s’ events. Doris adored her Aggies and Texas Rangers and seldom missed watching a game. Doris enjoyed researching genealogy and wrote a book on her family tree. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church where she served on the altar society. Doris was a past president of the St. Mary Catholic School PTA and also served as a Cub Scout leader. Doris was beloved by her family. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Wall and husband Jesse of Temple and Michelle Provazek Crews of Temple; a son, Kevin Provazek and wife Bobbi-Jean of Temple; a brother, Glenn Green and wife Rita of Belton. She was adored and known as “Granny” to her grandchildren: Joelle and husband, Eric Jenkins; J.C. III and wife, Melody Wall; Jordan Wall; Candice and husband, Jarred Eixman; and, Casey Crews. Granny was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Jaelyn and Logan Jenkins; and, Emery Eixman. Pallbearers for the service will be J.C. Wall III, Eric Jenkins, Jarred Eixman, A.J. Mikeska, Clayton Pick, Gaylon Matous, and Karl Green. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Doris Provazek’s name to St. Luke Catholic Church, 2807 Oakdale Drive, Temple, Texas 76502.
