

Edwin B. (Ed) Wade, age 73, of Morgan's Point Resort, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 6 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. James Misko officiating. Mr. Wade was born on November 22, 1937 in Mercedes to Elisha Billingsley Wade and Ruby Eulala Hendrickson Wade. He was reared and educated in Houston. He worked as a police officer for the Houston Police Department for 24 years. He returned to work as a civilian employee as manager of computer services for the next 15 years retiring in 1997 with a total of 39 years of service with the Houston Police Department. He had been a resident of Morgan's Point Resort community for the past 14 years. He had been a member of the U. S. Army Reserve and Houston Police Officers Retired Organization. He was a volunteer with VistaCare Hospice in Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. Survivors include his wife, Candice Wade, two sons, Johnny Guzman and wife, Jo-Ell of Morgan's Point Resort, Edwin Brian Wade of Florida, one daughter, Deborah Luckey of Pasadena and four grandchildren, Sgt. James D. Bounds of Papillion, Nebraska and Eric Andrew, Amber Lynn and Ashley Ann Luckey all of Pasadena. Also surviving are brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Anna Maria Lozano of San Antonio and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
