Faustino Garcia Quinteros, know by family and friends as Frosty was born on July 29, 1929, in Temple, Texas to parents Barbara Pedrosa Garcia and Basilio Garcia. Frosty's Father passed away when Frosty was only nine months old. Later, Barbara married J.J. Quinteros and when Mr. Quinteros registered Frosty for school, he gave Frosty his name. Faustino served as a tail gunner in the Air Force and also served in the Army during the Korean War. Frosty married Janie Cruz, the love of his life, on June 26, 1959. Frosty and Janie shared over 52 wonderful years together. There was no truer Texas Longhorn fan than Frosty. Frosty's dedication was evident by just entering his "Longhorn" room in his home, in Eddy where he loved to entertain family and friends. Frosty loved big parties and large gatherings. He loved to listen to music, watch football and visit with family and friends. Frosty's love for his longhorns was as great as his love of family, the two went hand in hand. Frosty loved to bake pies and cakes and worked together with Janie making and serving the most delicious Mexican food. Frosty retired from the Santa Fe Railroad and then worked at the Poage building, retiring for a second time in 2004. Frosty also enjoyed golf. He participated in many golf benefits and even supported Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish tournaments. Frosty's favorite holiday was Christmas and he insisted that Janie put up the Christmas trees before Thanksgiving this year. Frosty was preceded in death by one brother Philip Garcia and a sister Angie Solis. Frosty is survived by his wife Janie and two sisters, Jo Ann Guajardo and Margaret Basuldua and her husband Paul; two sons Dennis Scott Quinteros and Isaac Quinteros and Adrian Robles; four daughters Virginia Willoughby, Corine Quinteros and Paula Runnels, Sherry Lossing and her husband Phil, Barbara Sawyer and Doug Drosche; seven grandchildren, Christopher Sawyer, Kristen Lossing, MacKenzie Quinteros, Whitney Taylor, Austin Gardner, Haley and Marley Maas, and one great grandchild Luke Taylor. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and a rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday with service following at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Father Ramiro Terazona officiating.
