Frances Mae Tippit Kotrla, age 84, of Temple died Saturday, May 12, 2012 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 15, at the Floca Memorial Pavilion at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Doug Young officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Kotrla was born May 21, 1927 in Temple to James Alexander and Anna Inez Gwyn Benson. She was a lifelong resident of Temple. She graduated from Temple High School and attended Temple Junior College. She was formerly a proof reader at Temple Daily Telegram and was a homemaker. She married Frank J. Kotrla on October 15, 1974. He preceded her in death August 25, 1988. She was also preceded by one son, James Wilson Tippit. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple. Survivors include one son, John Robert Tippit and wife, Katheleen of Conroe, one grandson, Kenneth Leon Tippit, Sr. and wife, Tina and two great-grandchildren, Kenneth Leon Tippit, Jr. and Amber Skye Tippit all of Tomball.
