
Freddie L. (PawPaw) Severson, Sr., 75, of Holland, died Friday, June 30, 2006 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Hughes and Judy Gotcher officiating. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 4, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Severson was born July 30, 1930 in Newark, South Dakota to Charlie Henry and Lila Grace Baker Severson. He married Doris Burns November 19, 1952 in Holland, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a mechanic in Bartlett, Texas for 31 years retiring in 1989. He has been a resident of Holland for over 51 years and attended the First United Methodist Church of Holland. Survivors include his wife, Doris Severson of Holland; three sons, Edward Severson and wife Denise, Doug Severson and wife Debra, and Russell Severson all of Holland; one daughter, Karen Lischer and husband Norris of Temple; four sisters, Mildred LaMoureaux, Ruthie Zimmerman, Linda Zimmerman all of Vancouver, Washington and Janice Carlson of Britton, South Dakota; one brother, Charles "Buddy" Severson of Britton, South Dakota; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Freddie Leroy Severson, Jr., a daughter, Virginia Ann Anderson, and a grandson, Barry Anderson. Active pallbearers will be Mike Cearley, Paul Bales, Bobby Poncik, Joe Liles, Mike Roasa, and Robert Wiley. Honorary pallbearers will be Everett Scott, Willie Eaton, and Charley Mack Gotcher. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Holland, Texas or the Holland High School Scholarship Fund, Holland, Texas.
