Gale Edwin Mitchell

Graveside services for Gale Edwin Mitchell, 78, of Temple will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday Jan. 20, 2017 at Bellwood Memorial Park with Rev. Will Passmore officiating. Gale (Pa/Mitch) Mitchell passed away on Sunday in a Temple hospital. Gale Mitchell was born June 19, 1938 in Springfield, Illinois.  He spent his early years in the U.S. Army.  Gale moved to Temple fifty eight years ago from Illinois.   He married the love of his life Bonnie Jackson June 21, 1958.   He worked as a Land Surveyor, Residential Home Builder and as a Real Estate Developer. He started Mitchell and Associates in 1975.  During this time he also started the land development businesses and Victory Homes.  He was a member of Texas Society of Professional Surveyors and Central Texas Home Builders Association and was a member of Little River Country Church. Gale was preceded in death by his parents; Floyd and Ruby Mitchell; Brother Jim Mitchell and Sister Marvella Carey and half sister Betty Mitchell. Survivors include his wife Bonnie Mitchell of Temple; two sons Gary Mitchell and his wife Biddy of Salado and Bob Mitchell and his wife Fran of Belton; grandchildren Derik Mitchell and his wife Sarah, Josh Mitchell and his wife Dana, Jordon Tull and her husband Rickey, Ethan Mitchell and his wife Cammie, Jackson Mitchell and Grant Mitchell; great grandchildren Justin, Charli, Landon and Leyton; his sister Geraldine Dodson and brothers Donald Mitchell, Vernon Mitchell and Bill Mitchell and half brother LaVerne Mitchell.    Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
