George L Schneider

George Lee Schneider, age 90, of Heidenheimer, TX passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at a local care center. He was born on January 22, 1934 in the Wilson Community in Falls County, the son of Otto and Laura (Hoelscher) Schneider.

A visitation will take place on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2807 Oakdale Dr. Temple, TX 76502. A Rosary will follow at 7:00pm at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Luke Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Monica’s Catholic Cemetery in Cameron.

George served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1959, worked for 44 plus years for Santa Fe Railroad, and was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple. On October 24, 1959 he married Leeola Richter at St. Monica’s in Cameron, TX.

He is survived by his children, Gery Schneider of Temple, TX, Al Schneider and wife Malane of Ringling, OK, D’Ann Beck and husband Steve of Florence, TX, and Angie Bailey and husband John of Belton, TX, 5 grandchildren, Kendall Jackson and husband Troy, Bailey Cattanach and husband Sean, and Annie, Katie, and Tucker Bailey, and 5 great-grandchildren, Pate, Ryan, Hazel, Kyler, and Delaney. He is also survived by his siblings, Charles Schneider and wife Ann of Rosebud, TX, Daniel Schneider and wife Cindy of Gatesville, TX, Margaret Mikeska of Cyclone, TX, and Carol Moore and husband Nubby of Cameron, TX, brothers and sisters-in-law, Madeline and Leroy Sehon of Temple, TX, Richard Schigut of Temple, TX, Ginger Schneider of Nogal, NM, Thomas and Marritta Sheguit of Cameron, TX and Adrian Richter of Hearne, TX.

George was preceded in death by his wife Leeola Schneider, parents Otto and Laura Schneider, and siblings, Arlene Wilde, Harvey Schneider, William Schneider, Beatrice Niekamp, Bernard Schneider, Harold Schneider, and Mary Helen Schigut.
