A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, at Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church in Temple, Texas. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A committal service will follow at Greathouse Cemetery.
Heston was a proud graduate of the Oklahoma Horseshoeing School and a respected member of the Professional Bronc Riders Association. He was a man worthy of the title “cowboy,” living each day with unyielding spirit, boldness, and heart. Whether in the arena or among friends and family, Heston carried himself with kindness, authenticity, and grit. He always had a smile on his face and a story to share, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janet Avery.
Heston is survived by his loving parents, Jason and Kacie Avery; his sisters, Kyleigh Avery, and fiance Kolton Whitton, Kaitleigh Avery, and Kinsleigh Avery, all of Joaquin, Texas; and his brother, Britt Avery and wife Ashlyn of Temple, Texas. Grandparents Ed and Dana Thomas of Piedmont, Oklahoma and Robert Avery of Temple, Texas; aunt Katie Williams of Riesel, Texas, and Uncle Jonathan Avery of Temple, Texas. He was a devoted uncle to his nephews, Jason Avery of Temple,Texas and Brantley Taylor of Academy, Texas, and to his niece, Kaylin Whitton of Joaquin, Texas.
To know Heston was to love him. His life, though brief, was a powerful testament to living fully and loving deeply. He will be remembered always for his generous soul, his fearless nature, and the light he brought to the lives of many.
