

Howard James "Jimmy" Wood, Jr., age 56 passed away at his home in Lott, Texas on Monday, May 18, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Church of The Visitation in Westphalia. Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00pm Friday, May 22, 2015 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Jimmy was born December 21, 1958 in Elmira, New York to Howard Wood Sr. and Patricia Wolfe Wood. He was the eldest of 6. At 18 years old he joined the U.S. Army and honorably served his country for 20 years. During his time in the Army, he used the opportunity to tour Europe on his motorcycle. After retirement, he used his love of travel to choose his career as a truck driver, letting him tour the United States and Canada. Jimmy and his wife, Debbie, dedicated themselves to the Catholic Church, and as members of the Church of Visitation were baptized March 22, 2008. Jimmy was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and served his community thru extensive charities as a member of the Knights on Bikes. He was preceded in death by his father Howard Wood Sr. and his brothers, David Wood and Joseph Wood. Jimmys family was his utmost importance and he is survived my his wife Debbie Wood; his mother, Patricia McCormick and step-father, Robert McCormick; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jane and Barney Bush; his children, Amanda Robinson and Alexis Santos; son-in-law, Kraig Robinson; grandson, Asher Robinson; sister, Vicki Beardsley; his brothers, Michael Wood and Kevin Wood; step-sister, Gonia; step-brother, Randy; and his brother-in-law, Jerry and his sister-in-law, Tonya and his many nieces and nephews, Greg, Katie, and Jayden, Chris, Jeff, Kara, and Brenden; and his wonderful aunts, Irene, Diane, JoAnn and Patty.
