James A. McGhee

 Funeral services for James A. McGhee, 68, of Morgan’s Point will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Loyd Hall officiating.  Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels. Mr. McGhee died Sunday in a Temple Hospital. Mr. McGhee was born February 12, 1948 in Corsicana to Elmer Lawson McGhee and Ima Jewel Ross McGhee.  He graduated from Corsicana High School and Navarro College.  He served in the Navy and then served in the National Guard.  He moved to the Bell County area in 1972.   He married Wendy Sooter March 11, 1994.  He worked as a Radiology Technician at the V.A. Hospital in Temple until his retirement.  He was a member of VFW Post 1820 and American Legion 133 and served as a City Councilman at Morgan’s Point. Survivors include his wife Wendy McGhee of Morgan’s Point; two daughters Christy McGhee of Corsicana and Jodi Ann Mees of Belton; one step son Sean Ian Moore of Morgan's Point; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
