John Houston, age 58 of Temple, died Thursday April 7, 2011 in an Austin hospital. A memorial mass will be held at a 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Mr. Houston was born on June 1, 1952 in New York, NY to the late Wayne Houston and Sylvia Van Ryper Houston. He graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, NJ in 1970. He previously worked for Leibowitz Insurance in Belton and Extraco Banks in Harker Heights as an insurance consultant. Mr. Houston is survived by his wife, Christie Houston of Temple; a sister, Mora Cronin of St. Helena, CA and a brother, Andrew Houston of Manhattan, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in John's name to the Temple Animal Shelter, 620 Mama Dog Circle, Temple, TX 76501.
