
John Lee Hancock, 64, of Temple died Thursday December 29, 2011 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday January 1, 2012 at Cathedral Oaks, 1312 Waco Road, Belton, TX with Dr. Mike Nipper officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Hancock was born February 5, 1947 in Temple to Edgar and Ethel Lawson Hancock. He graduated from Temple High School and North Texas State University. He served in Vietnam in the 7th Engineers Battalion of the 1st Marine Division. John married Irene Ullo Edwards on May 5, 1984 in Temple. He spent his career in the church furniture industry serving as vice president and director of marketing at Imperial Woodworks in Waco, TX at the time of his death. He was a former member of Temple Lion's Club and the Waco Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife of Temple; one daughter, Julianna Hancock Farmer of Burleson, TX; stepson, Christopher Edwards of Melissa, TX; stepdaughter, Kelly Roley of Nashville, TN; one sister, Janice Houston of Mesquite, TX; seven grandchildren.
