Julia Helen McGuire

Graveside services for Julia Helen McGuire, 90, of Temple will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Bellwood Memorial Park with Rev. Eddie Humphrey officiating. Mrs. McGuire died Sunday in a Temple Nursing Home. Mrs. McGuire was born April 9, 1922 in Maypearl to Manuel J. Fuller and Lorena Talton Fuller. She graduated from Maypearl High School and then moved to Itasca before moving to Temple in 1942. She graduated from North Texas State Teachers College and Kings Daughters Nursing School. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Kings Daughters Hospital, Scott and White Hospital and Santa Fe Hospital before retiring in 1984. She married Allen C. McGuire March 12, 1945. He preceded her in death Sept. 30, 2008. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Scott and White Auxiliary. Survivors include one son Kenneth McGuire of Temple; one daughter Gail McGuire Treece of College Station; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorial may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
