Services for Karen Sue Schmidt, 53 of Temple will be at 2:00 pm Saturday June 7, 2008 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Jerry Kirkpatrick officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Mrs. Schmidt died Tuesday June 3, 2008 in a Temple Care Center. Mrs. Schmidt was born in Scott City, Kansas the daughter of James H and Norma Jean Slajer Sweeny. Before her illness she was a Medical Insurance Adjuster. She is survived by her husband Richard Schmidt of Fort Collins, Colorado her mother Norma Jean Sweeny of Temple, 2 sons Michael B. Schmidt of Round Rock and Derrick S. Schmidt of Loveland, Colorado, 1 Sister Linda Cover of Morgan's Point and 2 brothers Gary W. Sweeny of Smithville and James N. Sweeny of Austin and 3 grandchildren In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
