

Retired Senior Master Sergeant, USAF, Kenneth “Butch” Wayne Moser, 58, of Moody, Texas went to be with God on August 30, 2016. Butch was born in Graham, Texas on November 4, 1957. He spent most of his childhood years in Valera, Texas jumping in the creeks with friends and rough housing with his sisters. Butch received two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree from Wayland Baptist University during his 23-year service in the United States Air Force. After his retirement, he taught for 7 years at Temple High School in Temple, Texas. More recently, he was the owner and operator of K&E’s Trading Post in Moody, Texas. Butch is preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Betty Jo Moser, his oldest sister, Beverly Kay Lamkin, father in law, Don Davis, and a brother in law, Alan Davis. Butch leaves behind his best friend and wife of 38 years, Elissa Ann Davis of Moody. This loving father and grandfather was devoted to his children and grandchildren who called him “Papa” and leaves his legacy to his three children and their spouses, Kent Moser and Deanna Meier of San Antonio, Texas, Kandra and Oscar Rincones of Forney, Texas, and Kelsey and Daniel Mantey of Temple, Texas. He will be missed by six grandchildren, Cailyn, Kendyl, and Jordyn of San Antonio, Alaina and Kensley of Temple, and Kade of Forney. Butch also proceeds in death his baby sister, Thressa (Trecia) and brother in law Tony Yoder of San Antonio. He was the uncle to 8 nieces and nephews, Marshall, Brian, Danielle, Brent, Brodie, Joshua, Alexandria, Tyler and a great nephew who called him “uncle papa,” Nolan. Butch also proceeds sister in law Donna and Cliff Dickehut of Cloverdale, Indiana, Mona and Danny Reynolds of Smithville, Texas, Brad Davis of Fort Worth, Texas and his mother in law, Ralphene Davis of Brownwood, Texas. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 2 from 5-7 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Road Temple, Texas 76504. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Following the ceremony, the family requests your presence at a celebration of his life at Sunset Ranch 21837 Highway 317 Moody, Texas.
