Marion Thomas Connell

Marion Thomas "Tom" Connell 78, of Magnolia, Arkansas, died Friday, February 2, 2007 in El Dorado, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas with Dr. Tom Henderson officiating. Military graveside will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Connell was born January 22, 1929 in Stringtown, Texas to Olan Calvin and Abbie Elizabeth Green Connell. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant, with three tours overseas in England, Iceland, and Turkey. Survivors include one son, Stan Connell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Dianne Connell and Gail Shocklee both of Magnolia, Arkansas; two brothers, O'Dell Connell of Ipava, Illinois and LaVoy Connell of Temple, Texas; Three sisters, Lucille Murphy, Mildred McQueen, and Tate Fipps all of Temple, Texas; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcell Connell, his parents, his son, Calvin Connell, a daughter, Reba Connell, and two sisters, Gerry Dukatnik and Earlene Jones.
