Mary Frances Lattimore Vanderford

Mary Frances Lattimore Vanderford, age 84, of Temple died Monday, September 27, 2010 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 1, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Martin Knox and Dr. David Harbour officiating. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Vanderford was born on May 1, 1926 in Waco to Dr. John E. and Alice S. (Bissell) Lattimore. She was reared and educated in Waco and received a bachelor's of arts degree from Baylor University. She married Rev. Earl C. Vanderford, Jr. on March 3, 1950 in Waco. She was an elementary school teacher for 18 years retiring in 1993. She taught in schools in Fort Worth, Bartlett and Rogers. She had been a resident of Temple for the past 40 years. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Waco for 23 years and a member of First Baptist Church in Temple for the past 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John C. Lattimore and Dr. Joseph Lattimore. Survivors include her husband, her sister, Catherine Lucy Mebane of Waco, three daughters, Alice Wooley and husband, Ray Wooley, Jr. of Holland, Mary Lucy Pinkert and husband, Mike Pinkert of Morgan's Point Resort and Catherine Ham and husband, Lt. Col. James Ham of San Antonio, 11 grandchildren, YN1 John C. Forgie of Sasebo, Japan, Samantha Barron and husband, Joey of Memphis, Tenn., Stephanie Wooley of Holland, Crystal Michalek and husband, Robert of Temple, Sheena Wooley of Holland, Kristen Villalobos and husband, Joe of Belton, Jennifer Baker and husband, Bobby of Temple, Libby Pinkert of Morgan's Point Resort, Tiffany Ham of Chicago, Ill., Mary Ham of San Antonio and James Ham of Golden, Colo. and nine great-grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Fowler of Kentucky, Mollie Parten of Memphis, Tenn., Christian Anderson of Holland, Jorja Williamson of Belton, Joseph, Alyssa and Jaden Villalobos of Belton and Nathanael Baker of Temple. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Temple.
