Brethren,  my father have suffered Parkinson disease for a long period of time, i have tried so many remedy, but known seems to work. I tried to get hold of Mary Katherine over the last few months.  I did not know she was ill.  I am so sorry.  I wrote her a card regarding the death of her mother.  Apparently, she passed away during the same time my husband was in hospice and I missed seeing it.  Mary Katherine was a huge part of my growing up and I will love her always.

Rick, I am a friend of your sister Donna. I only had the honor twice to be in the presence of your beloved Mary  The first time she presented herself as someone one would enjoy having as a friend.  The second time she was graciously living with Parkinson's Disease. May Jesus fill that empty place in your heart that is called grief with His love that passes all understanding.

I am sad to hear of your loss, but I am sure that now there is another saint with Jesus.

Carole and I are saddened by this news.  Our prayers are with Rick and the rest of the family at this time.

Mary Katherine and I met when my mom moved herself and me to Temple in October of my 4th grade year at Jefferson Elementary.  I was a bit scared of this new situation, and I observed all the kids in my class, Mrs. Messer's class, and the others during recess.  Several stood out to me as being welcoming.  Quiet though she was, Mary Katherine--and her childhood friends always referred to her by both names--was sweet and sensitive toward me.  I joined Girl Scouts, and we were in the same troupe for years.  I lived on her same street when we first arrived in Temple, and I always loved riding my bike past a park at Fannin Loop to her house (where I met catch a glimpse of her daddy who looked so much like Gunsmoke's Sheriff Matt Dillon ... and I would always tell him so!)  I didn't have a father who raised me, and I loved seeing Mary Katherine's interactions with her dad (and her sweet mom, as well).  All the names of the "north side girls" from Jefferson Elementary and eventually Lamar Jr. High and finally to Temple High School to this day have a close, close bond.  The loss of our precious Mary Katherine is deeply felt (as we are sharing on Facebook).  In 2009, I joined a small group of THS'ers from the Class of 1970 who were beginning to plan for our 40th reunion in 2010.  At my first meeting, I excitedly asked the others about north side girlfriends with whom I would love to find and re-connect because I had held them in my heart for decades.  Mary Katherine was one of these.  She is still there in my heart--for always in the eternity that Jesus offers to all.  I am so sorry for the painful grief you are now experiencing.  Lord, the God of Perfect Peace, I pray for Your comforting Presence to be sensed by this family.  In Jesus, amen.

To Mary's Family:    I met Mary when I began working at DADS. Her smile was contagious and she always tried to hold her head high. I remember sharing tears of joy, new grandbabiesand troubles that life through at us daily. The Angels in Heaven are singing loudly welcoming her home. She will be trubly missed by all. Know that wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, daughter and friend is always watching over us.   God Bless.
