
Graveside services for Merle R. Williams, 93, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan with Chaplain Mike Williams officiating. Mr. Williams died Wednesday at his residence. Mr. Williams was born in Lipan to Frank Williams and Cora Williamson Williams. He was raised on a farm during the Depression. He graduated from Lipan High School. He married Jeraldeen Carr October 7, 1941. He worked for an Aircraft plant in San Diego building B 17's during World War II. He then worked in inventory control for Texas Power and Light for forty two years. He moved to Temple in 1959 and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he was a longtime Deacon. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife Jeraldeen Williams of Temple; one son Calvin Williams of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one daughter Carol Stansbury of Temple; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Another visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12 Noon Saturday at Wiley Chapel in Lipan.
