Memorial services for Rev. Michael John Sapp, 72, of Temple will be held at 1:00 PM Friday October 27, 2023 at Belton Nazarene Church with Rev. Derek Whitten officiating.
Reverend Michael John Sapp was born on October 7, 1951 in Nevada, Missouri to William and Flora Sapp.
Rev. Sapp was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. He was married to Sharon Nellis Sapp for forty nine years. They had two children, Michael Chad Sapp of Temple and Kirsten Sapp Dildine of Salado. He was raised in Denver, Colorado and graduated from South High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1971-1978 as a radio operator in the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany and various stateside military bases. After leaving the military he worked in sales for twenty years. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1997 where he received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Ministry from Nazarene Bible College. He was ordained in 2010 as a minister in the church of the Nazarene. He served as an Associate pastor at Killeen First Church of the Nazarene and Belton First Church of the Nazarene.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, working in the yard, and maintaining his fish aquarium. He had a big sense of humor and loved to find ways to encourage those around him. He faithfully cared for his church family. He loved cooking and enjoying meals with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Temple, son, Michael Chad Sapp and wife Tammy of Temple, daughter, Kirsten Sapp Dildine and husband Joshua of Salado and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen Mark Sapp of Bennett, Colorado and wife Yvonne.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Grant Sapp and Flora Mae (Creamer) Sapp.
Memorials may be made in honor of Reverend Sapp to Belton Nazarene Church.
