

Nita B. Collier, age 88 of Temple, passed away on May 2, 2013 in a local nursing center. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 4, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with The Rev. David Alwine officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Collier was born July 4, 1924 in San Angelo to E. F. and Loura Wood Boehms. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio and attended Texas Women's University in Denton. She married Arthur E. Collier, Jr. on May 14, 1943 at Fort Sam Houston and worked alongside of him for 35 years as Vice President and Treasurer of Collier Electric, Inc. She later worked with her grandson at Sabre Electric until her retirement. She was a former president of Federation of Women's Clubs, charter member of Antique Glass Club of Temple and a member of several other local organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great-grandson. Survivors include two sons, Arthur E. Collier, III and wife, Karon of Richardson and Gene B. Collier and wife, Mona of Rowlett, four grandchildren, Chris Alexander and wife, Michelle of Plano, Brandon Collier and wife, Lindsey of Georgetown, Trenton Collier and wife, Vanessa of New York City and Raven Collier of Rockwall and three great-grandchildren, Taylor Anne, Addison Grace and Cannon. Also surviving is her sister, Judy Turner of Belton. Memorial donations may be sent to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, 600 W. 11th Street, Amarillo, TX 79101-3228.
