Phillip D. Metcalf, age 75, of Moody died November 30, 2011. Private services will be held on December 14, 2011 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas. Mr. Metcalf was born on January 5, 1936 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Floyd E. and Ina Marie Metcalf. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Manhattan, Kansas. Following his graduation from Manhattan High School in 1954, he enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps and served until honorably discharged in 1959. Phillip retired from Inea Manufacturing Company of Lewisville, Texas in January, 2001 and moved to Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dean E. Metcalf and Gaylon Metcalf and one sister, Donna Metcalf Burgwin. Survivors include one brother, Jerry Metcalf of Edmond, Oklahoma and two sisters, Jackie Metcalf Gould of Gilbert, Arizona and Debbie Metcalf Chard of Manhattan, Kansas.
