

Ronald R. Honeycutt, age 80 of Temple, died Monday, October 10, 2016 at the William R. Courtney State Veterans Home. Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, October 14, 2016 at Bellwood Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00pm Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Honeycutt was born on September 21, 1936 in Los Angeles, California to the late Floyd Honeycutt and Louise Erminger Honeycutt. He attended schools in Los Angeles and graduated from high school in Los Angeles. He was inducted into the US Army on May 12, 1960 and was honorably discharged on May 12, 1962. Mr. Honeycutt father’s opened Honeycutt’s Grocery and Station in 1954 and Ronald has owned and operated that business since 1968. He loved all sports, mainly the Texas Rangers and horse racing. He was preceded in death by his long-time friend and partner Nelda Allred, his parents; one brother, Gary Honeycutt and his step-mother, Margaret Honeycutt. Survivors include his daughter, Michele Alexander and husband Bill of Paint Rock, Texas; a son, Michael Honeycutt of Temple; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Alexander, Justin Alexander, Destiny Blackburn, Cullen Cummings and Kiley Cummings. Memorials may be given in Mr. Honeycutt’s name to the William R. Courtney State Veterans Home, 1424 Martin Luther King, Jr. Lane, Temple, Texas 76502 or to Compassus Hospice, 2210 E. Central Texas Expressway, Killeen, Texas 76543. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the A-Hall staff at the William R.
