
Ross Hale, 93, of Temple, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at his residence. Graveside services will be Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas. Mr. Hale was born in Houston, Texas to Carlton Davis and Jennie Ross Hale. He graduated from Wills Point High School and studied business at North Texas Agricultural College (now UT-Arlington). In 1941 he married Winona Everitt; she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ross Hale, Jr. and a daughter, Jean Elizabeth Hale. Mr. Hale joined the army in 1942 and served until 1946. After the service he began working for the Veteran's Administration. He worked at the Lubbock VA regional office from 1946 until 1959. He went into hospital administration. He joined the American College of Hospital Administrators and was active in numerous national and state hospital organizations. He worked in Iowa, South Carolina, and Texas at the VA hospitals. He was an associate administrator of the Temple VA Hospital from 1968 until his retirement in 1973. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he belonged to the Fellowship Men's Bible Class. He also belonged to Americus Medicus and was a member of Rotary International for many years. Visitation will be at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Thursday, December 15, 2005 from 2:00 5:00 P.M. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
