

Shirley Ann Morris was born on April 19, 1941 in Smithville, TX. to Dovie Lee Snowden (Nanny) and Juan Barrera Jr. Shirley Ann passed away in a Temple hospital on Friday, April 15,2016. She grew up in Elgin attending school there. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Some of Meemaw's favorite hobbies and interests were: cooking, sewing, antiques, history (especially Texas history), genealogy, collecting pictures of her family,and celebrating holidays with loved ones. She spent countless enjoyable hours researching and documenting family history. Her faith in Jesus Christ was very strong. She absolutely loved being surrounded by friends and family. She was a member of the Daughters of Republic of Texas, the Daughters of American Revolution, and a member of Oak Hill Cemetery Association. Shirley is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Gene Morris(papa), and her brothers; Ralph(Rabbit), Lloyd(Buddy), and Louis. Mom is survived by: her sister Jeanette Waters of Temple, her brother Juan Barrera of Alice. Her children: Sheryl Ann and Joey Franks of Temple, Lisa Lynne and Jay Morgan of Rogers, Robert John(Robbie) of Ft Worth, and Scott Hayden and Debra Morris of Salado. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Ann Poff and husband Jody, Jessica Leeann Coufal, Jayla Briann Hill and husband Cody, Brandon Shane Stone and wife Erica, Keith Tyson Stone, Lori Renee' Brown and husband Wacey, Heather Rene Shelton and husband Scott, Michelle Thompson, Michael Muzny, Hayden Scott Morris, & McKenna Lee Morris. Great Grandchildren: Rinna, Raylee, Ryker, Jagger, Jasper, Lynnlee, Chrystal, Tyler, Dylan, & a little Brown on the way. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, & extended family. Mom had many friends. Some she just talked to on the phone or thru emails. She also leaves behind her close friend Anita. Meemaw has provided us with a strong Christian faith, an abundance of memories, unforgettable advice, and unconditional love.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M.
