
W. Collins Janeway, age 84, of Temple passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 15, at First Baptist Church in Temple with Reverend Martin Knox officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 8 PM Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Janeway was born June 2, 1923 in Temple to Alton and Cuba Keith Janeway. He married Billie Swan on May 2, 1946 in Temple. He was a graduate of the University of Texas Pharmacy School. He served in the U. S. Navy attached to Marine Medical Corps. He was a lifelong resident of Temple, owning Southside Drug then Prescription Lab. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Joy Singers, was a private pilot, past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #153, Knob Creek Masonic Lodge, Past President of Mended Hearts, Inc. and Temple Aerial Modelers. He was the cameraman who took all pictures of Temple High School football games for more than 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother, James Janeway. Survivors include his son, Keith Janeway and wife, Melinda of Temple, grandchildren, Leah Alison Paty and husband, Jeff of Lewisville, Chris Watson and wife, Melissa of Denver, Colorado and Tyler Watson of St. Louis, Missouri and a great-granddaughter, Kennedi Grace Paty. Also a special lady friend, Sue Slone, her children and grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 102 W.
