William Sterling Roberts

Funeral services for William S. Roberts, 79, of Temple will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Bill Kneip officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Roberts died Monday in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Roberts was born in Loma Linda, California November 12, 1930. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a Master Sergeant June 28, 1974 after twenty eight years of service. He married Joyce Dillingham May 14, 1976. He moved to Temple ten years ago from California and was a member of Canyon Creek Church of Christ and was a social member of the Belton Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by a daughter Kelli Anderson. Survivors include his wife Joyce Roberts of Temple; one son Scott Roberts of Oregon; three daughters Connie Roberts of Delaware, Amy Roberts of Delaware and Betty Klunk of Belton;his mother-in-law Waneta Dillingham of Temple; seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Patriot Guard Riders, Inc. 2124 S. Peoria Ave Tulsa, Oklahoma 74114. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
