Ann J. Cifelli, 81, of Toms River passed away Sunday January 5, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newark, NJ, Ann had lived in Northern Jersey. Business opportunities brought her to Alabama and Maryland before moving to the Toms River area 45 years ago. Early on she attended beauty school and enjoyed working with her clients. She then worked as a Financial Consultant for the First National Bank of Toms River. Ann, a trained dancer, always enjoyed dancing and music, as well as, baking, playing cards competitively, animals, sci-fi movies and most of all, spending time with her beloved family. She had a way with children and was happiest being with them. She enjoyed eating her “goodies” and desserts.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2003 and her brother Charles Schuster and is survived by her three children, Joseph Cifelli, Lori Ann Clayton and her husband Michael Canaday, John Cifelli and his wife Jessica, her seven grandchildren, Deanna, Stephanie, Richelle, Rachelann, Joey, Sophia, Leo and her four great grandchildren, Clayton, Kiersten, James and Thomas. Also, surviving are her sister Margaret Gawronski and sister in law Diane Schuster with a host of loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday January 9, 2020 at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral home from 5-8 pm with services to begin at 7 pm. Entombment will be held at 11:30 am on Friday January 10, 2020 at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave., Colonial, NJ 07067.
