Anna Desiderio, 79, passed away on April 15, 2026. Born on September 20, 1946, in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mildred (Luster) Loria. Anna also lived in Long Island, NY, where she raised her family.
With a steady sense of purpose and a generous spirit, Anna devoted several years of her working life to serving others as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor with Lake Grove Treatment Center, NY. Her care for people was evident in the patience she offered, the thoughtfulness she brought to each day, and the quiet selflessness that guided her work.
On September 26, 1964, Anna married her beloved husband, Sal. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and enduring devotion. She was a loving mother to two children, Tonianne and Salvatore Jr. (Coney), and a proud grandmother to Cheyenne Newfield and Gabriella Desiderio. She is also survived by her siblings: Ralph Loria (Maria), Daniel Loria, Anthony Loria (Mimi), Joseph Loria, Anna's loving extended family, sister and brother in laws, Louis Desiderio (Terry), Theresa Scher, Thomas Desiderio, Louise Roy and her many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Anna was predeceased by her two brothers, Arthur Loria and Louis Loria, and by her sister-in-law, Rosemarie Loria.
Anna found joy in simple pleasures and shared moments. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City and playing the slots, loved listening to music, and truly delighted in being around people. Her humor was singular—an easy, memorable brightness that brought comfort and laughter to those around her. Above all, Anna cherished time spent with family and friends, offering a faithful presence and a heart that never withheld care.
In her community, Anna gave of herself generously, enjoying opportunities to help at the Holiday City Heights Clubhouse and community events—always willing, always attentive, and always thinking of others.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 12:00 pm at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River. Entombment will follow to St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.
