Anthony “Tony” Famelio, 81, of Toms River, NJ died suddenly on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Community Medical Center. Born in the Bronx, he resided in Monsey, NY for 15 years before moving to Toms River, NJ in 2001. Tony retired as an assemblyman for General Motors Inc. after many years service. Tony played the mellophone and was a member of many Drum and Bugle Corps. From 1954-1955, he was a Bronx Kingsman: 1958-1962, he was a part of New York Skyliners: 1968-1982, he was a part of Hawthorne Caballeros: 1996-1997, he was a part of the 20th Century Limited: 1996-2005 he was a member of the Hawthorne Caballeros Alumni: 2005-2008, he was a Bridgemen Alumni: he was a Reilly Raiders Alumni in 2011, he also was a New York Skyliners Alumni: 2008-2022.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Gail Doran Famelio; his daughter Joanne Famelio; and also many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755 where a Funeral Service will take place at 8 pm.
