Catherine Mary Murray, 74, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Francesco and Carmela Mormando, Catherine grew up in Brooklyn and raised her family there until 1986 when the family moved to Toms River, NJ.
Catherine enjoyed family vacations, cooking and shopping. Most importantly Catherine loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandson Thomas.
She was predeceased by her brother Nicholas Mormando in 2017 as well as her brother in law, Robert Murray in 2017. Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Peter, her two daughters, Marie Murray Peterson and her husband Richard, Liz Murray and her devoted grandson Thomas Peterson. Also surviving are her many cousins, extended family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:00 am at the St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine's name can be made to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Tunnels 2 Towers.
Cremation will be private under the care of Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River, NJ.
