Dianna was the definition of compassion and selflessness. She was always smiling and would give the shirt off her back to anyone. Dianna loved spending time with family, spending time with her best friend Lois Fetch-Kane, was an avid reader, enjoyed going to the dog park, going to the shore, especially Island Beach State Park, gardening, and taking care of her beloved pets as well as the occasional stray.
One time while at work as an eye technician Dianna came across a patient that was upset over being told by his landlord that he wasn’t allowed to have is dog anymore and was faced with losing his dog or eviction. Dianna adopted the dog without a second thought so he could keep his place and raised it with love. That’s the kind of kind person she was. Always putting others before her to help them out.
Dianna was predeceased by her husband Theodore Ellis , and her son, Michael Gerris. She is survived by her sons, Francis of East Windsor and Chuck of Freehold, stepdaughter Leslie of Hardyston , stepson Richard of Wellington Fl, her sister Margaret of Whiting, and brothers Michael of Whiting and Joseph of Whiting, step grandchildren Jayson, Kimberlin, Ryan, Richard and Jordan as well as many nieces and nephews and their families that were dear to her heart. She is also survived by her beloved dog Holly.
A memorial service and celebration of Dianna's life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, 11 am at the Hope Presbyterian Church, 617 Hope Chapel Road, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
