Douglas Thomas, 81, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday February 1, 2024 at his home with his loving wife Lorraine at his side. Born in Newark, NJ, he lived for many years in Union, NJ, before moving to the Toms River area 15 years ago. Douglas was a veteran of the US Army. He retired as a Captain of the Irvington Fire Department after which he worked many years as an electrician. Douglas was an avid golfer and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.
Douglas was predeceased by two sons Douglas and David. He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine; two sons, Michael and Richard; a daughter Erin Klebaur; his brother-in-law Tony Mariani; a step-son Carmen A Rotonda and is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home on Friday February 9, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 5:30 pm. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.quinn-hoppingfh.com.
