

Eric A. Vecchione, Sr. age 72 of Toms River died Tuesday, November 19th at Community Medical Center, Toms River surrounded by his family, friends and his beloved wife Mary Jane. He was a truck driver for Midwest Haulers, Jersey City. Eric was a parishioner and usher at St. Barnabas R. C. Church, Bayville, a 3rd degree member of St. Joseph Council #4969 Knights of Columbus, Toms River, a 4th Degree member and color corp. Commander of the John D. McMahon Assembly #1926 Knights of Columbus and in 2010 he was the Color Corp. Commander of the Year for the St. Isaac Jogues Province 2nd New Jersey District. Born in Jersey City, he was raised in Hoboken and lived in Union City before moving to Toms River in 1972. Surviving are his wife of 53 years Mary Jane, his children Eric A. Vecchione, Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of East Brunswick, Mary F. Anderson and her husband Darren of Brick, Paul T. Vecchione and his wife Adrienne of Belle Mead, Lisa Vecchione of Toms River, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visiting will be Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11 am Monday at St. Barnabas R. C. Kolbe R. C. Church, Bayville. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to St. Barnabas R. C. Church, PO Box I, Bayville, NJ 08721-0320.
