Gerard W. Sheehan, 82, of Toms River passed away Wednesday April 25th, 2012 at Community Medical Center. Born in Manhattan he resided in New York City and Staten Island prior to moving to Toms River in 1995. He worked for the New York City Sanitation Department for 20 years until he retired in 1973. Gerard was an Army Veteran serving from 1950 to 1952. Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years Theresa Montalto, daughter Maureen Golden of Toms River, son Kevin and wife Renee Sheehan of Staten Island, 3 grandchildren Jason Sheehan, Shaun Golden and Daniel Golden, great granddaughter Skyler Golden and brother Raymond and wife Judy Sheehan of Maine. Visitation will be Saturday April 28th, 2012 and Sunday April 29th, 2012 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday April 30th, 2012 at 10:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church in Toms River. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge, NJ.
