Born in Jersey City and later grew up in Cliffside Park, he raised his family in Old Bridge and later in retirement resided in Toms River, New Jersey.
He was a loving Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Son, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Poppy, Great Grandpop, Life Partner & Friend.
Before the possibility of internet research or today's "do it yourself” television programming, we often relied on others' knowledge and wisdom. As for the friends and family members of one exceptional individual, we needed only one avenue to turn to, Harry. No matter the task or situation at hand, he had a fix for the problem but, more impressively, the desire and willingness to help.
When he was a young man, he fostered his mind and curiosity to discover how and what made things work. After attending Jr. College, and finding employment as a Draftsman, he eventually became a Millwright and Machinist following in his father’s footsteps.
Even in retirement, he never settled down. Fixing cars, building decks, and installing windows are often what he would be doing over the weekends to give a helping hand—known for snow blowing the entire street to take care of his neighbors was one of his bequest’s. He had a dance style all his own and was not afraid to show it. He was a pillar of support to all of us who loved him. He enjoyed boating, the beach, the outdoors, staying up late, was fascinated with American history, taking long drives, had a green thumb in the garden, and loved spending time with his grandkids that he adored.
He was the first born and only son of Harry & Gertrude (Drude) Albert. In 1967 he married Janette L. (Pyle) of Neptune, NJ and became an irreplaceable member of the Pyle and Eldridge family.
He is predeceased by his wife Janette L. (Pyle), and his son Harry Albert IV.
Surviving are his daughters Penny DeLucia and her husband Jack (Beachwood, NJ); Amy Davis and her husband Glenn (Steamboat Springs, CO); Brandi Black and her husband James (Little Silver, NJ). He is the big brother to sister Ann Marie McGuire (Pocono Summit, PA); Grandchildren Missy, Patrick, Grayson, James, and Lilly. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who he mentored and loved.
He was blessed with a life partner, Diane Kmak, whom he shared the last 15 years of his life. He treated her children and grandchildren as his own. They enjoyed time traveling, the boardwalk, visiting with friends and the pure essence of nature in their backyard.
He leaves behind a legacy and bright light for all that he loved, and he will be sorely missed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
