

Jean Roppelt age 87 of Toms River died Thursday December 25th at home. She was a dedicated educator for over 40 years starting in Fanwood and then from 1959 at West Dover Elementary, Toms River until retiring. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph R. C. Church, Toms River, a member of the Catholic daughters of the Americas and a volunteer at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Jean enjoyed traveling throughout the world, the beach, boating and outdoor sports. She was born and raised in Somerville before moving to Toms River in 1958. She was predeceased by her sister Lorraine Cericola. Surviving is her brother in law Oswald Cericola of Toms River, her nephew and his wife Richard and Elizabeth Cericola of Waldwick, her niece and her husband Cynthia and Alex Aurilio of West Long Branch, 3 great nieces Kathleen Cericola, Alyssa and Allison Aurilio, 1 great nephew Richard R. Cericola.
Visiting will be Sunday January 5th from 3-6 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 am Monday January 5th at St. Joseph R. C. Church, Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Spring Lake.
