

Joanne L. Monaco, 72 of Boca Raton, FL passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. She was born in Orange, NJ to Alfred and Lorna Baron on March 19,1949. Joanne had lived in Greenwood Lake, NY before moving to Boca Raton FL in 2012. Joanne worked as a sales associate at Lord and Taylor in Paramus, NJ before retiring in 2011.
Joanne was the loving wife of the late Edd G. Monaco Sr. for 33 years. Joanne is survived by her daughter Renee Baron-Gonnella and her husband Rocco Gonnella, her brothers Wayne Baron and his wife Patti, Michael Baron and his wife Dawn, and Brian Baron, her stepson Edd Monaco and his wife Tami, and stepdaughter Joy Monaco. She was the beloved grandmother to Rocco, Marisa, Dionna, Nico, and Alexia Gonnella, Mercedes McNally, and Eddie and Frankie Monaco. She was also the beloved great grandmother to Everleigh Gonnella.
Joanne grew up in Livingston, NJ and graduated from Livingston Senior High School in 1967. Growing up, Joanne had many friends and was a free spirit who loved to spend time at the beach and dance the night away even after having her daughter in 1970. For years she was a hardworking single mom and then in 1982 she met the love of her life, they were married in 1984. Her greatest joy in life was her family, which included her in-laws Teresa and Mike Tagleiri, Lisa Taglieri-Osborne and all her nieces, nephews, cousins and her oldest dearest friend Angela Catapano. She especially enjoyed all her surprise visits from her daughter and grandchildren. She was an avid dog lover and had three black labs Bo, Babe, and Tilio who have all passed on. Her beloved dog Magnum is still here with us and is staying with her daughter and grandchildren. Her life and memory will be passed on through all those who loved her more.
Cremation will be private and under the care of Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd, Toms River.
