Jose J. Ibanez

Jose J. Ibanez, age 86, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025. Jose was born in Cali, Valle del Cauca Department, Colombia as the son of the late Rosanna Cifuentes Ibanez and Hernando Ibanez. He was a former professional soccer player and later in life retired as a laborer for Union Local 394 in Elizabeth NJ. Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Yolanda Ibanez; his children Elizabeth Mesrobian (Raffi), Francisco Javier Ibanez, Angela Maria Ibanez, Silvania Mueller (Charles W.), and Jose Airton Ibanez; a brother, Regulo Ibanez (Ayde); and a sister Anna Melba Rios (Adolfo); his five grandchildren, Alex, Charlie, Vache, Chantal, and Andrea; and five great-grandchildren, Chantal Priscilla, Aleina Jazmine, Charlize Hayden, Cali Elizabeth, Nyelli London, and another on the way. Visitation will be Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 087555028. His funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM in the funeral home. After his cremation, his urn will be placed privately at a later date in Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07067.
