Louis Anthony Sferlazzo, age 77, of Lakewood, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, peacefully at home. Louis was born in Newark, NJ on September 2, 1947 as the son of the late Fay and Louis T Sferlazzo and brother of the late Deborah Panecki. Louis is survived by his beloved children and their families, Tara Sferlazzo, Lisa Farkas, Justin Doherty, Philip Sferlazzo, Dana Daye and Jaime Sferlazzo; He was adoringly known as “Papa Lou” by many who crossed his path over the years. Louis had a heart of gold, a humble soul who lived his life with integrity. No matter how many challenges life threw at him- he persisted. He was a deep thinker with an open mind, someone you could share your thoughts, ideas, feelings and beliefs with, with no judgement, which is a true rarity in this world. Louis had an ability to really see people, and he made it a point to share the goodness he saw in you and express gratitude. He believed in “simple pleasures” and knew that the best things, were not things. Good music, good food, laughter, history, culture, spirituality, quality time, and a late night drive to Atlantic City were known to light him up. We will always remember him as the soft breeze on a “severe clear” day. The crashing of the waves on the shore. The smell of garlic and oil sizzling in a pan. His sweet spirit will always surround us, we will never be without it. You can rest now Dad, and bask in eternal peace. "Tell them you love them regardless, cause in a flicker we can be back to stardust"- Louis Anthony Sferlazzo
As was his request, his arrangements were private and at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
