Let us tell you about Margo. She was the beloved youngest daughter of Frank and Rita Smith and the treasured sister of Don (Bernard D), Jim, David, Anne, Frank and Mary. She was born December 22, 1956 in Hartford, Connecticut and raised there and in Orleans, Massachusetts. She was the beloved mom of Biz (Elizabeth), Aaron and Bryan, and adored YaYa to Elias and Grandma to Alison and Christopher. She leaves her treasured daughter in law Nicole and "special daughter" Kim Pulda. She was loved by and delighted numerous nieces and nephews. She and her best friend Grace McManus were “partners in crime” for decades.
She loved everyone she met, and everyone she met, personally and professionally, was enchanted by her. Margo was an incredibly generous friend who loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. She brought the party with her wherever she went and any mundane event could become a hilarious joyride with her there.
Her professional life spanned the spectrum of caregiving. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, Forensic Nurse and Certified Case Manager. She worked in the hospital, ICU, Community Health and Hospice, SANE ( Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) and Case Management. She was a fierce advocate who went to great lengths to provide the best care and services for her patients.
She loved trips! She traveled often to Cape Cod to visit family, to Alaska to visit Aaron, Disney World with her kids, Florida to visit Biz and Elias, Michigan to see Jim’s family, and went on cruises with friends. She was always ready to go and wanted to go everywhere.
Margo’s dog companions were a great source of comfort and joy for her. Jessie, Kipper and Casper were her “babies” and the best -spoiled pets you could imagine. They were unconditional love on four paws.
The world was a much funnier and happier place when she was here. She lived “large”, brought so much light and LIFE to all of our lives. She accomplished a lot in her 57 years. We wish we could have her longer, but will remember the fun, ridiculous, outrageous, beautiful times with her.
