On 7 August 1926, Marguerite Ann Trainor was born to John Regan and Margaret Booth-Regan in North Bergen, NJ. She attended St. Brigid’s Grammar School and Holy Family High School. She was a founding member of a group of friends that called themselves ‘’The 10 Gems’’ and maintained relationships with these friends for over 7 decades. After graduating from high-school, Marguerite secured a position at the Savoy Hotel on 5th Avenue in NYC where she worked as a book-keeper and payroll clerk. She enjoyed her work and would talk about the Hollywood celebrities and other famous people she got to meet at the hotel such as Grouch Marx and Frank Sinatra. She enjoyed a work environment where appearance and dress code were required which gave her an excuse to buy a pair of shoes each payday. She not only loved her work, but also made friends at her job with whom she maintained lifelong friendships.
In 1949 while on vacationing with friends in Seaside Heights, NJ Marge met a navy man, Louis Trainor, whom she married in 1954 after a long-distance courtship. The couple honeymooned in Florida on their way to Lou’s assignment at Naval Air Station in Hollywood, Florida. The couple returned to NJ in 1958 when Lou was reassigned to Naval Air Station Lakehurst, NJ. Eventually the couple moved to Toms River, NJ in 1960, where they lived out their married life. Their love story lasted for over 5 decades until Lou’s death in 2000.
Marge was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She joined St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Toms River in 1960 and was an active member of the Catholic Daughters and the PTA. She was dedicated to the Navy community and served in leadership roles in the Fleet Reserve and Navy Wives Organization. Marge loved her job as a Visiting Homemaker in Ocean County where she worked for 20 year. She developed loving relationships with all of the patients she served.
Marguerite died on July 24th just 14 days short of her 94th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Louis Trainor, her brother John Regan and his wife Helen of Point Pleasant, NJ, sister Charlotte Regan-Rhinefield and her husband Raymond of Cornwall, NY, sister-in-law Helen Sharp of Redondo Beach, CA, niece Pamela Rhinefield-Cowan and her son Charlie, and her nephew Raymond Rhinefield, Jr. of Newburgh, NY.

The scripture from Proverbs 31 summarizes Marge’s life:
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. “Many women do noble things but you surpass them all. “
