

Ray was born in Englewood Hospital (Bergen County). He lived in Dumont and waldwick until moving to Toms River in 1990. Ray graduated from Dumont High and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ earning an Associate degree in Chemical Technology. Ray worked n the field of Chemistryhis entire working career as an assistant chemist in research and development.
Ray was a meals on wheels volunteer for 25 years in both Bergen County and Toms River. He also volunteered through Mt Zion Bible Church in Pensacola, FL as a mentor and Bible grader for many years to men incarcerated in prisons all over the country.
Ray was a member of Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Seaside Heights, NJ.
Ray is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Gladys (Burdick) Bunger. Also in-laws, Rose and Walter Carlson, Marjorie and Donald Strickland and Ann and Bob Crum.
Ray is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Paling Bunger. His brother Donald and wife Eleanor of Cheshire, CT. His step-son Edward Paling and wife Jenne of Colorado Springs, CO. Step daughter Patricia Paling Paul and husband Michael of Wellsville, NY. Step grandson Scott Paling and his wife Jen of Littleton, CO. Step granddaughter Dawn Paling Anderson and husband Lucas of Highlands Ranch, CO, step granddaughter Jacqueline Paul Barrett and husband Brendon of Sayville, NY, step granddaughter Lindsay Paul Perricone and husband Daniel of New Hampshire. Also cousins, Joan and Lou Cornick and Robert and Deloroes Burdick and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from 1 to 4 PM on Sunday November 5, 2012 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral service will be officiated by Pastor William Kosten at the funeral home at 3:30 PM. Interment will be private at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Silver Ridge Park North First Aid Squad, PO Box 3311, Toms River, Toms River, NJ 08756 in memory of Ray will be appreciated.
