

Robert Francis Hoose, 85, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Toms River, New Jersey. Born on August 7, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Robert lived a full and colorful life that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Robert was the son of the late Julia A. Hoose and Paul G. Hoose, Sr., and grew up alongside his siblings Esther Hart, Diana Freeman, and his late brother Paul G. Hoose, Jr. From an early age, Robert displayed a creative spirit and a zest for life that would define him throughout his years.
A skilled craftsman by trade, Robert dedicated much of his career to painting and wallpaper installation. Later in life, he transitioned into a new role as a professional chauffeur, where he continued to demonstrate his work ethic and personable nature until his retirement.
Robert’s personal life was equally rich. He shared many cherished years with his beloved wife, Barbara J. Hoose, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his two sons, Michael R. Hoose (Linda) and Daniel R. Hoose (Cindy); seven grandchildren—Megan, Cassidy, Hailey, Jordan, Mackenzie, Kyle, and Gianna; as well as his two sisters Esther Hart and Diana Freeman and extended family.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert had a vibrant personality that made him unforgettable. Known for his funny sense of humor and unique style, he was truly one of a kind—a real character who brought joy to those around him. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing the drums and expressing himself through drawing. His love for his many pets, spaghetti with meatballs for dinner and candy bars was legendary among those close to him.
Robert’s legacy is one of creativity, humor, and individuality. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
