

Salvatore F. “Cowpoke” Maggio, 74, of Toms River passed away suddenly on Friday March 16, 2012 at Community Medical Center. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Milltown, NJ for 16 years prior to moving to Ocean County in 1989. Sal was a 1955 graduate of Snyder High School in Jersey City and worked as a senior draftsman for AT&T in Newark for 32 years retiring in 1991. He enjoyed classic cars, being with family and going on vacation. He also worked at Pathmark for 20 years and BJ’s Wholesale Co for 13 years, both in Toms River.
Sal was predeceased by his son Carmine Maggio.
He is survived by three sons; Michael and his wife Christina Maggio of Milltown, Thomas Maggio of Philippines, Joseph and his wife Peggy Maggio of Palm Coast, FL; two daughters, Suzanne and her husband Edward Goff of Milltown, Dina and her husband Kevin Coster of Toms River. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, ex-wife of 36 years Noreen Holsten and his dear companion Judy Fandry.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday March 24th from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Memorial service will take place at 2:15 PM. Condolences may be sent to family by visiting www.quinn-hoppingfh.com.
